Mutante is a digital organization seeking to expand participatory journalism through Latin America. I was asked to illustrate three testimonies for their article “Stories and obstacles to access free abortion in Colombia” by Natalia Herrera Durán.
The article explores the difficulties women have faced getting access to abortions, regardless of it becoming legal, until the 24th week of gestation, recently. Stories of medical malpractice, family isolation and religious judgment. I feel deeply moved to work alongside such a talented team and use my art to illustrate such important matters.
